Honestly, the reason I picked up the RS Jet in the first place was pretty simple: traffic near my place had gotten unbearable, and parking fees keep climbing every year. I bought it half out of curiosity, and three months later, it's become my go-to for commuting, grocery runs, and just cruising around on weekends. I've basically forgotten where my gas cap is.
This is my second Inmotion ride — the last one was the S1F, only a little over a year ago — but the first time I hit the throttle on the RS Jet, the acceleration hit me the way it did the first week I got my driver's license. It genuinely doesn't feel like the same generation of tech.

The acceleration is no joke
The official spec is 0-48km/h (30mph) in 3.5 seconds, and I've clocked it myself a few times on my phone — it checks out. That's roughly enough to keep pace with a V6 automatic Mustang off the line. I know comparing acceleration to a car sounds a little silly, but remember — this is a scooter we're talking about, which makes it a lot less silly.
The RS Jet sits as a slightly toned-down version of Inmotion's flagship RS: the full-fat RS tops out around 68 mph with over 100 miles of range, at a higher price tag. On the RS Jet, I've clocked a top speed of 55.2 mph on GPS, and over roughly 320 miles of riding across three-plus months — without babying it for efficiency — I'm reliably getting 33-35 miles per charge. Range anxiety just hasn't been a thing.
To be clear, this isn't a laid-back cruiser. You can absolutely take it slow if you want, but at its core it's built for people who want speed and don't mind a bit of edge. I wouldn't recommend it as anyone's first personal EV — there's no traction control, no ABS, nothing electronically holding your hand. Whatever you give it on the throttle, that's exactly what you get.

Two details I use every single day: the touchscreen and the cruise button
The RS Jet has a color touchscreen that handles a lot of settings without needing the app — locking the scooter with a PIN, for example. One time I bumped into it by accident after locking it up outside a grocery store, and it immediately started honking and flashing lights at me in front of everyone. A little embarrassing, but it definitely proves the anti-theft feature works.
The touchscreen also lets you adjust front/rear power distribution and each wheel's regenerative braking strength. After a fair amount of tweaking, I settled on 0% regen on the front and 50% on the rear — that way I still get fine, precise low-speed control through the front hydraulic brake. I did try maxing out regen on both wheels once; it felt off, and I haven't gone back to it.
The brakes have been reassuring — whenever I need to slow down, they're there. Combined with the regen settings dialed in, I feel genuinely confident stopping this thing. After 300-plus miles, the pads still look like they have plenty of life left.
My favorite everyday feature, though, is the physical cruise control button right under my left thumb — one press and you're set, no need to hold a steady speed for several seconds like on some other scooters. It sits right between the turn signal buttons, which auto-cancel after five seconds so you don't have to manually turn them off. The left side also has the headlight switch and a horn that sounds like it belongs on an actual motorcycle — not something you'd want to use on a bike path, but plenty effective on regular streets. The headlight itself is solid too; riding at night around 45 mph, visibility is more than adequate.
The throttle is a thumb-style unit rather than the more common lever-style trigger. It felt a little awkward at first, but after some time in the saddle I actually prefer it — it's noticeably less fatiguing on the hand, especially paired with the cruise button.

The suspension clearly got real attention
The suspension has genuinely impressed me. It soaks up small bumps and dips with a comfortable amount of travel without bottoming out easily. It does have adjustable rebound damping, though honestly I couldn't feel much of a difference switching between settings myself.
My commute includes a stretch of consistently rough, pothole-riddled pavement, and on other scooters I've ridden, my hands would be numb by the end of it. On the RS Jet, that same stretch barely registers — and oddly enough, the faster I go, the smoother it feels.
The ride height is also adjustable using a hex key, letting you switch between a taller, more off-road-oriented stance and a lower one. I've kept mine on the taller setting the whole time — stability and ground clearance have both been solid.

Bottom line
Three months in, the clearest takeaway is that gas has genuinely stopped being part of my life. Speed and range both sit near the top of this price bracket, comfortably in the same conversation as flagship scooters like the Segway GT3 Pro or Kaabo Warrior 11 Max. If your budget stretches further and you want even more headroom, it's worth looking at the full RS.
If you commute daily and enjoy a bit of driving thrill along the way, I'd happily recommend the RS Jet. That said, if you're starting from zero experience, it's probably smarter to build up some skill on something more beginner-friendly before jumping into a performance-oriented ride like this one.
