The INMOTION ownership guide
A great first ride starts before you switch on.
Whether you are choosing your first electric unicycle or unboxing a new electric scooter, a few thoughtful checks can make getting started much simpler. Begin with the way you plan to ride, know what applies to your order, and follow the instructions written for your exact model.
This guide takes you through that process in order, with practical answers to common questions about delivery, activation, range, and charging.
One principle to keep in mind
Model matters. Specifications, setup steps, warning codes, and operating limits are not interchangeable across the INMOTION range. This is an introductory guide, not a repair manual or a guide to modifying safety systems.
Choose the ride that fits your day
Start with your route, not the biggest number on a specification sheet. How far will you travel? Are there hills or uneven surfaces? Will you need to carry your ride upstairs, connect with public transport, or lift it into a car?
Your experience matters, too. A first-time rider should consider learning needs, ease of control, a suitable practice space, and protective equipment alongside performance. Budget for that equipment and routine maintenance rather than spending everything on the vehicle alone.
What deserves a closer look?
- Everyday commuting: check your round-trip distance, road conditions, and the test conditions behind the advertised range.
- Longer routes and hills: check the model’s intended use and operating limits, and allow a range buffer.
- Frequent carrying: compare overall weight, dimensions, and how you will handle the vehicle off the road.
- Unpaved terrain: review the exact model’s tires, suspension, and official usage restrictions.
Compare electric unicycles and scooters separately. Features such as a dual-motor scooter configuration should not be treated as general EUC buying criteria.
Before you order, check the details
Confirm the seller’s identity and authorization status, then review the product listing carefully. Is the model in stock or on preorder? Is shipping available to your destination? What delivery estimate applies to your purchase?
Delivery arrangements, returns, shipping costs, and warranty coverage can differ by purchase channel, region, and order. Use the current policies that apply to your own purchase rather than treating another customer’s experience as a promise.
If you need to change your address or cancel, contact order support as early as possible. Your available options depend on the order’s current status.
Unbox first. Set up second.
Before switching on, inspect the packaging, vehicle, accessories, and charger for visible damage or anything unusual. Keep your order information and vehicle serial number accessible.
If something appears damaged in transit, take clear photos and contact order support before proceeding. Keep the packaging while any questions or transport arrangements are being resolved. Having the original packaging does not, by itself, establish eligibility for a return or exchange.
Follow your model’s setup instructions
Use the official manual to confirm the required app, connection process, activation requirements, and introductory steps. These can vary with the model, app version, and firmware version. A tutorial for a different vehicle may not show the right procedure for yours.
Normal activation, user-adjustable settings, and bypassing safety limits are different things. Complete the official setup process without disabling or working around safety features. Never adjust settings or use your phone while riding.
If the vehicle beeps, shows an error, or limits speed unexpectedly
Record the exact display or app message and check your model’s documentation. Do not assume it is simply beginner mode, and do not switch off a safety feature just to silence a warning.
Before riding on roads, trails, or other public spaces, check the current rules published by the relevant local authority for your vehicle category. Availability for purchase does not establish permission to ride in every location.
Get to know your battery and charger
Why real-world range can differ
Advertised range is measured under particular conditions. Temperature, rider and cargo weight, tire pressure, speed, hills, and road surfaces can all change energy use. Compare the published test conditions with your actual route before drawing conclusions.
Low tire pressure, for example, can increase rolling resistance. That is different from an increase in the battery’s electrical resistance.
Less range than expected does not automatically mean a faulty battery, but it should not automatically be dismissed as normal either. If range drops sharply, errors recur, or unusual heat develops, stop testing the vehicle and contact support.
Use a confirmed-compatible charger
Use the charger specified in your manual or one officially confirmed as compatible with your exact model. A plug that fits is not enough to establish compatibility; voltage, connections, and other requirements must also match the model’s specifications.
Do not disassemble the battery, short-circuit connectors, or attempt to force activation. Follow the official instructions or guidance from support.
Read charging codes in context
If “008” or another code appears during charging, record the full model name, where the code appears, what you were doing, and the charger’s indicator status. A message on the vehicle, in the app, or on the charging equipment may need a different explanation.
Do not assume a code has one meaning across the entire INMOTION range. Likewise, do not borrow another model’s plug-in sequence or waiting time without checking your own instructions.
Check the limits for wet conditions
Consult your model’s manual before riding in damp or rainy conditions. An IP rating does not mean every component has the same protection, and it does not determine whether water damage is covered by warranty.
Quick answers for new owners
My new vehicle is speed-limited or keeps beeping. Is it unactivated?
That is one possibility, not a diagnosis. Check your exact model and any display or app message first. A 4 km/h limit or a particular mode-switching method is not a universal rule for every INMOTION vehicle.
Bluetooth will not connect. Where should I start?
Confirm you are using the app required for your model. Note your phone’s operating system, app version, and the exact error, then follow the model-specific connection instructions. Avoid resetting the vehicle or repeatedly changing unrelated settings without guidance.
Does reduced range in cold weather mean the battery is damaged?
Not necessarily. Temperature can affect available energy and range, but temperature alone cannot establish battery condition. Consider the riding conditions, the extent of the change, and any warnings. Avoid relying on a fixed percentage reduction unless it is supported by relevant test data.
Can I use a third-party charger?
Only use a charger specified in the manual or officially confirmed as compatible. Do not assume compatibility based on connector appearance alone.
Need help? Give support the full picture.
For specifications, use official product information for your model, version, and sales region. For activation, connection, or warnings, start with the model’s manual and app prompts. For shipping, returns, or warranty questions, refer to your order and its applicable policies.
When contacting support, provide your full model name, purchase channel, when the issue began, and clear screenshots or video of any messages. Share serial numbers and order details only through official support channels, and keep personal information out of public posts.
Start informed. Ride prepared.
Choose for your route, follow your model’s instructions, and pause for support whenever something does not look right.
