Can an V8, or V8F be upgraded by just replacing the battery pack?

At this time, it is not an option that’s being provided by Inmotion.

What is the weight penalty for the additional 210Wh in capacity?

Just 1lb.

What type of battery cells are used in the V8S?

The LG M50LT 5Ah battery cells

How much parts similarity are is there between an V8F & V8S?

The only material difference is the battery pack, all of the other components are identical on the V8F.

Is the maximum rate of charging increased?

Yes, the V8S can now be charged at up to 4A

As shipped from the factory, what is the max speed?

Without downloading/install the accompanying App, the Wheel has a 25kph/15.5mph limit. From the App, can you change the slider property to 35kph immediately in a few seconds.

Can I control the lights without having to use the App?

Using the combination of the under-handle switch & power button, you’ll can toggle the side atmospheric lighting on & off, for when you need to go into stealth mode. Headlight can be turned on/off by pressing & holding the power button. The rear tail-light remains on when the wheel is powered on.

How good is the water-protection on the V8S, can I use it in the rain?

Going back to 2016, INMOTION has sold close to 1000x V8s. Based on our experience, there has not been a single reported case of water induced damage of this model. Compared to other designs, the V8/F/S has a fully enclosed battery case, with silicon injection to help protect the battery from water ingress. There are also rubber seals between the housing & controller bay; from a design standpoint, the V8 series remains among the best water-protected Wheel being made. The manufacturer’s recommendation is that you can Ride the V8F in light rain & damp road surface, but try to avoid using in a heavy downpour, or leaving it outside exposed to the elements.

Packaging for my V8S was very secure and sturdy. Setup was easy; glad the transportation mode was set right from the factory. Currently learning so bought the associated cover as well. All in all, happy with my purchase!

perfect starter / light-commuter wheel

Weighing only 35 pounds makes it easy to lift on trains and compact form factor to stow on buses. Convenient to throw in the car trunk for enhanced mobility options. Made the right choice starting with the V8S to learn the art of EUC. Range is surprisingly good for such a small machine. Carries my 190 pounds 20 miles at 18mph. 700 miles so far with flawless reliability.
